A Bit About Me
Keely Cobb is a Reno, NV based dance choreographer, dancer, teacher, three-time NAC Jackpot Grant recipient, a 2020 Artown Commissioned Artist and the founder of Around the Stage | Theatrical Dance Company. Cobb began her professional choreography career in Spring 2016 with a commission from Evoke Modern Dance Company of her short dance, “The Wild.” Shortly after, she was hired by the University of Nevada, Reno to assistant choreograph their Fall musical, The Music Man. She has since produced and choreographed six evening length dance works, The Showbiz Cabaret (2016 and 2019), Relations (2017), The Poetry Movement (2018), Synopsis of This. (2018), The Showbiz Cabaret Remake (2019), “Take My Hand” Music Video (2020), SPLATTERED (2021), Seraphim (2022). She has also choreographed for Reno Little Theater, Good Luck Macbeth, Bruka theater and Sage Ridge School.
Cobb started Around the Stage | Theatrical Dance Company in early 2018. Around the Stage is a Reno based dance company that strives to present professional performance opportunities to local dancers and theater technicians in the area. Through a collaborative process, Around the Stage presents quirky evening length works that combine theatrical elements of crafting characters, investigating relationships and assembling narratives with multiple dance techniques. Around the Stage has performed at Reno Little Theater, Good Luck Macbeth, Artown, Sierra Arts Foundation, and Encompass Academy.
